Generally speaking, here’s how to tell if an aftermarket or OEM timing belt is good quality:
- Materials produced to OE (Original Equipment) specifications
- High-quality metal and grease
- Well-defined teeth and sturdy reinforcements
You may want to choose a manufacturer that’s been in business for a while. Many companies offer guarantees, which could come in handy later. If you’re not sure, ask your mechanic to make a recommendation.
