Which Volvo models have adaptive cruise control?
My husband and I like to take long road trips, and we’re looking for a new car. He likes Volvos, but he insists that any new car we get must have adaptive cruise control, so he can “coast” on the road and really feel like he’s on vacation. Which Volvo models have adaptive cruise control?

The following Volvo models have adaptive cruise control:
- XC40
- XC60
- XC90
- S90
- V90
- V90 Cross Country
The great thing about these Volvos having adaptive cruise control is that they somewhat alleviate your husband’s proclivity for “coasting” and paying less attention to the road—though we here at Jerry advise all drivers (especially your husband) to pay attention to the road at all times.
You see, Volvo’s Adaptive Cruise Control and Pilot Assist system differs from regular cruise control in that it adapts to conditions around and in front of it. So, if the vehicle in front of you slows down, Volvo’s adaptive cruise will automatically adjust your speed and slow down as well, giving you more time to react accordingly.
Of course, adaptive cruise control should never be a substitute for good, old-fashioned attentive driving, so tell your husband to coast on his own time, with two feet planted firmly on the ground, and pay attention until you’ve reached your destination. Then the vacation can begin!
