Where were Cadillacs first made?

I’m a huge history buff, and my latest venture is to learn more about the American auto industry. With 120 years in business, Cadillac seems like a very interesting company. When and where were the first Cadillacs made?

There’s a lot of interesting history around cars, for sure! Cadillacs were first made in October 1902 in Detroit, Michigan—the company was founded by Henry M. Leland and William Murphy, two wealthy industrialists. In that year, Cadillac produced the Runabout and Tonneau, which were marketed not as cars, but as horseless carriages!
Today, Cadillac still produces many of its cars in the U.S., but none in Detroit. The current Cadillac manufacturing plants are in:
  • Kansas City, KS
  • Lansing, MI
  • Lincoln, AL
  • Spring Hill, TN
  • Shanghai, China (for Asian markets only)
If you ever decide to own a piece of Americana by purchasing a Cadillac, you need a licensed car insurance broker to lower your
