Where is the trunk release on a 2018 Chevy Malibu?
I just got a used 2018 Chevy Malibu for a great price. I’m trying to open the trunk from the inside of the car but can’t seem to find the button. Where is the trunk release on the Malibu?

Unfortunately there is no trunk release button inside the 2018 Chevy Malibu cabin. However, you can open the trunk in two ways:
- Key fob: Press and hold the trunk release button on the key fob to release the latch.
- Underledge button: Once the car is unlocked, you can press the underledge button below the trunk door. This will release the latch and you can open the trunk door.
Thankfully, the key fob works inside and outside of the car so not having a trunk release button in the cabin isn’t a great inconvenience. When opening the door, be sure that there is enough clearance behind your car to avoid damaging your trunk door.
