Where is the Suzuki Vitara made?
I drove my 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara into the ground—literally. I last drove it into a ditch beside my house two years ago after the brakes went out, and it’s been there ever since. Anyways, I really liked it, and I’d love to get a new one. But I can’t find new Suzukis anywhere. Where is the Suzuki Vitara made?

The Suzuki Vitara is made in Hungary by Magyar Suzuki.
You won’t be able to buy a Suzuki Vitara in North America, though, as Suzuki pulled out of U.S. and Canadian markets in 2012 due to poor sales, a limited lineup, tough competition, and an unwieldy exchange rate. The Vitara is still sold elsewhere, including in Europe, Japan, China, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as parts of Africa and the Middle East.
Suzuki dropped Grand from the vehicle’s nameplate when it unveiled the fourth generation of the Vitara back in 2015. The company was aiming for a more urban, pavement-centric aesthetic, as opposed to the more rugged feel that the

traded on for years. The Vitara sports a more sleek, subcompact crossover body, as opposed to the boxy, truck-like build of the previous generations of Grand Vitaras.So, other than getting a new Vitara shipped from overseas, your best bet might be to haul your old Grand Vitara out of the ditch to see if it’s fixable—or just get a new SUV.
