Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Honda Fit?

I tinker with cars as a hobby, and I want to try and help a friend whose check engine light is on in her 2019 Honda Fit. However, I’m not familiar with Hondas and don’t want to waste too much time. Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Honda Fit?

What a nice thing to do for your friend! To find the OBD port on a 2019
Honda Fit
, you’ll need to look under the dashboard on the driver’s side. The port will be situated slightly above and to the left of the accelerator and brake pedals.
Here are a few examples of OBD scanner trouble codes:
  • P0101: There is a problem with the
    mass airflow sensor
    .
  • P0116: The engine coolant temperature sensor is faulty or defective.
  • P0128: The cooling system is malfunctioning.
  • P0191: There is an issue with the fuel pressure sensor.
  • P0300: Engine cylinder misfire.
  • P0451: Faulty
    fuel pressure sensor
    .
  • P0500:
    Speed sensor
    is damaged or malfunctioning.
  • P0730: There is a problem with the shift control system.
  • P1355:
    Ignition coil
    power circuit malfunction.
  • P1449: Overheating battery.
Of course, there are dozens of possible codes that might pop up on your scanner, so if you see one that’s not on this list, look it up online or consult an error code book. Once you know what the code means, you can assess whether you should bring the car to a mechanic or try to fix the problem yourself.
