The Mazda 6 has been built at the Hofu manufacturing complex in Yamaguchi, Japan since 2002. The 6 was also manufactured in Flat Rock, Michigan until 2012 when Mazda ended its partnership with
Ford
and moved all Mazda 6 manufacturing back to the company’s home country of Japan.You can easily tell if your Mazda 6 was made in Japan or America by looking at your car’s vehicle identification number—or VIN.
