Where is the 2016 Kia Sorento OBD port?

My check engine light came on, so I wanted to use an OBD2 scanner to learn more about it before I took it in. Where is the 2016 Kia Sorento OBD port?

You should be able to find your 2016
Kia Sorento
OBD port in the driver’s area of your cabin.
On a 2016
Kia
Sorento, you should be able to spot a panel on the left-hand side of your dashboard, about level with or just below your steering wheel. This gives you access to your Sorento’s fuse box, and once you remove the panel, you should see the OBD port is located at its base.
On-board diagnostic (OBD-II) scanners are an extremely useful troubleshooting tool that can save you a lot of money on
routine maintenance
and
car repairs
. When you plug the scanner into the port, you can trace the error codes it detects back to various problems with your vehicle. If the problem is an easy fix you can manage, you just saved yourself a bill from the auto repair shop. And if it’s more serious, you have some extra validation that bringing your Sorento to the mechanic is a good idea.
Just one heads-up: there’s no OBD error code for
car insurance
coverage gaps—so it’s a good idea to periodically check in on your policy to ensure your Sorento stays adequately protected.
