How do I keep shattered glass from falling out?

One of my passenger side windows shattered recently after being hit by a rock. It didn’t completely break the window or leave a hole, but the glass is completely shattered. I’m worried it will start to fall out. How do I keep shattered glass from falling out?

If one of your car’s windows is cracked or shattered but not actively broken or falling apart, you can use tape to keep shattered glass from falling out until the window can be replaced.
To tape up your window to keep shattered glass from potentially falling out, you’ll need to apply clear packing tape over any and all cracks in the window. This will hold the glass together until you get it replaced.
If need be, you can also use packing tape to tape the window in the up position to minimize the chances of the window shattering completely inside the car door.
If one of the windows in your car shatters, you may not have to pay for repairs out of pocket depending on the named perils covered by your insurance policy. Licensed
