Where is the 2011 Mini Cooper’s OBD port location?
The check engine light is on in my friend’s 2011 Mini Cooper, so I figured I’d help her by using my OBD scanner to try and find the problem. Where is the OBD port located on a 2011 Mini Cooper?
the first thing you should do is locate the hood release to the left of your steering wheel. Then, look behind the hood release to find the OBD port. Because the OBD port is set back under the dashboard, you may need to duck down or squat outside the driver’s side door to reach it comfortably.
Here are some of the common trouble codes associated with the 2011 Mini Cooper:
P0011: Engine is not timed correctly or the timing chain is worn out
P0014: Engine oil is dirty or too low
P0113: The air filter is dirty or defective
P0128: Engine thermostat is defective or the coolant is low
P0200: Defective fuel injector or faulty wiring
P0300: Worn out spark plugs
P0420: Worn out or defective catalytic converter
P0602: Powertrain control module is failing
P0845: Low transmission fluid
U0107: Dead battery
Of course, there are many more possible trouble codes than the ones listed above, so it’s a good idea to double-check your codes with reliable online sources or a code book. The vehicle’s owner’s manual may also include a selection of common OBD scanner codes.
