Where is the 2004 Hyundai Sonata OBD port location?

It’s my first time using an OBD scan tool, and even with the instructions, I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out how to use it on my vehicle! Where do I plug in an OBD scanner in a 2004 Hyundai Sonata?

If you’re not sure where to find your 2004
Hyundai Sonata
OBD port, you’re not alone. After all, it’s not exactly information that’s included in your owner’s manual.
The good news is, it’s easy to find once you know where to look. The OBD port location in a 2004 Hyundai Sonata is above the pedals in the driver’s footwell, specifically to the left of the clutch pedal.
Here’s a breakdown of how to find it:
  • Open your driver’s side door (but don’t get in!)
  • Locate your gas, brake, and clutch pedals in the footwell
  • If necessary, crouch down to look above the clutch pedal
  • The OBD port should be visible at the top left of the clutch pedal
To use your OBD scanner, simply plug it directly into the socket. Make sure your car’s ignition is turned to the “ON” position, but don’t start the engine! Once connected, you should be able to use your scan tool to run diagnostics on your vehicle.
Hopefully the OBD tool helps you identify any
car repair
needs you might have. Best of luck!
