If a hybrid battery dies, can you still drive the car?

I have a 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid, which I believe is the first year they came out. The battery is past the warranty, and wouldn’t you know it—the battery died. Can I still drive the car if the battery dies by jumpstarting it?

While you can try to
jumpstart the battery
, the the likelihood that it works or isn’t just a temporary fix is slim. Whether you’re driving a 2014
Honda Accord Hybrid
or any other hybrid, if the hybrid battery dies, you will not be able to drive the car.
Since you’ve had the car for eight years, that may explain why your hybrid battery is acting up or unable to hold a charge. Take your vehicle to the mechanic to see if the battery has damage to some of its cells or the entire battery.
In some cases, a shop may be able to repair the battery, but you’ll likely have to get a new battery. Expect to pay between $1,500 to $3,000 for a new one.
If you decide that your old car is officially kaput and you want to get a new hybrid, make the smart move and shop for affordable car insurance with the
