Where is the 2001 Hyundai Tiburon fuel pump relay location?
I’ve been dealing with exhaust issues and poor gas consumption on my Tiburon, and my buddy who’s a mechanic said it sounds like the fuel pump relay. I want to check it out. Where can I find it?

Exhaust issues and variable fuel consumption are signs of a faulty fuel pump relay and something you’ll want to check out ASAP. The 2001 Hyundai Tiburon fuel pump relay is located in the passenger compartment relay box next to the ECM.
You’ll find this just above the center hump in the dash to the right of and below the radio. You will see five relays—two on the left, one in the middle, and two on the right. The one in the middle is the fuel pump relay.
If you’re struggling to find its location, refer to your owner’s manual for more information. Alternatively, if you don’t have a physical copy of your manual, you may be able to find an online copy with a quick Google search.
Other symptoms to watch out for with a faulty fuel pump relay include:
- Stalling
- Check engine light is on
- Car won’t start
- Rough idling
- Bad fuel pump
- Poor engine performance
