Congratulations on the
purchase of your first electric car
—that’s so exciting! Once you get the hang of driving your electric vehicle it’ll feel like second nature.
The short answer to your question is no, right now electric cars unfortunately can not charge while driving. This is because to charge your electric car, it needs to be manually
plugged into a charging port
. It takes electric vehicles anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the battery size and how much charge is needed.
In order for wireless charging to occur, it would likely mean the highway or road you’re driving on would need to have charging capabilities. But, this technology is actually in the works and might not be as far off as you might think!
With the purchase of your new electric vehicle, you’re going to need car insurance to ensure you’re safe on the roads. For a new car, you’ll likely need comprehensive coverage, liability coverage, and collision coverage. While that may sound like a lot, you can use Jerry to help you navigate purchasing car insurance.
