Where did the name Lexus come from?

Why is Lexus called Lexus? Is it the name of a person, or does it come from somewhere else?

The name “Lexus” comes from the Latin word “luxus” combined with the French word “luxe.” This was meant to symbolize elegance and luxury.
Lexus also began as the luxury subdivision of the Japanese vehicle brand
Toyota
, which gets its name from its founder, Sakichi Toyoda. Toyotas from before 1936 have a Toyoda emblem rather than a Toyota one. Lexus was formed in 1983 to help the company sell luxury vehicles in a separate category.
