Where did the name Aston Martin come from?

I’m a huge fan of the Aston Martin brand and have been ever since I saw one in a James Bond movie. I want to learn a bit more about the company before I visit the museum next summer. How did Aston Martin get its name?

That sounds like the perfect trip! Aston Martin is named after its founder, Lionel Martin, and a ¾-mile speed hill climb in Buckinghamshire, England, known as Aston Hill.
Founded in London, England in 1913, Aston Martin has been an iconic automaker for over a century. When Lionel Martin created his first vehicle, the Singer, he raced it up Aston Hill. To this day, no one is quite sure whether Martin ever won the race, but the hill became synonymous with the brand—a plaque at Aston Hill even commemorates his racing and design prowess, even if he never took home the top prize.
While you might not be able to purchase an Aston Martin, you can always visit the headquarters and museum in England. To save some scratch for your trip, compare
