I’m a marketing major in college, and we’re learning about logos and emblems. We’ve discussed a few different logos, but I want to learn more about my favorite brand—BMW. What’s the origin of the BMW logo?

The current BMW logo comes from a 1929 print advertisement that features a propeller over the original BMW emblem. At the time, BMW was more focused on the production of airplanes than any other type of motorized vehicle. As a result, the propeller made sense for marketing and advertising purposes.
The propeller remains in the logo today, although it essentially just subdivides the blue and white colors on the emblem rather than appearing as an actual propeller.
Hopefully, you graduate college with flying colors! When you do, you may want to treat yourself to a new BMW. Just make sure that you don’t get overwhelmed by
