Where are Nissan LEAF batteries made?

I’ve always purchased Nissans, and I love the quality of the parts they use. When it comes to the Nissan LEAF, are the batteries made at the same location?

Good news—the battery for the Nissan LEAF is made at the Smyrna, Tennessee plant (the regular Nissan vehicle factory).
The company currently uses Envision AESC batteries and develops its tech. Envision AESC is a former Nissan joint venture with NEC, acquired a few years ago by Envision Group, but Nissan still holds a minority stake.
Many other Nissan parts come from Japan, but the LEAF is assembled in Tennessee, at the same plant that manufactures the battery.
