Where are electric car batteries made?
I’ve started doing research while looking into buying my first electric car, and I’m wondering what the future of the electric car industry looks like globally. Namely, where are most electric car batteries being made, and what does this mean for the future of electric cars?

A study of lithium-ion battery supply chain ranking in 2020 declared China as the dominant producer of EV batteries, but they’re not the only contenders in the race. Other top producers of EV batteries include:
- Japan
- South Korea* Canada
- Germany
- United States
China’s lead in the lithium-ion battery supply chain is primarily due to the country’s access to the raw material of lithium as well as high domestic demand for the batteries. In spite of this global market dominance, 70% of battery cells and 87% of battery packs in the U.S. are produced domestically thanks to
