Where are Buicks made?
When I was younger, Buicks were—how do I say this—cars for geriatrics. But in the past few years, the company has really reinvented itself. I’ve been learning more about this transition, but I’m trying to fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge. Where does Buick make its cars?

Buick has definitely reinvented itself from the perception of an old person’s car to one for younger individuals! To answer your question, Buicks are made in the United States, China, and South Korea—depending on which of Buick’s three models you’re referring to.
Here’s where each model is made:
- The Buick Encore and Encore GX: Bupyeong, South Korea
- The Buick Envision and Envision Avenir: Shanghai, China
- The Buick Enclave and Enclave Avenir: Detroit, Michigan, USA
While the foreign-manufactured Buicks are held to the same quality standards as the American-made Enclave, you aren’t technically buying 100% American. This is a deal-breaker for some individuals. Regardless of which one you choose, you’re bound to find something you like in the Buick lineup.
