What's the best way to get rid of a sweat smell in my vehicle?

My son left his hockey bag in the backseat of my car and now it reeks of sweat, even after removing the bag! How do I get rid of the smell?

If you have a sweat smell in your car, it’s not nearly as bad as you might think. Unlike
coffee stains
that require scrubbing and blotting, smells just need a quick deodorizer.
To get rid of sweat smells in your car, mix two parts water with one part white vinegar in a spray bottle. Let it dry and repeat as necessary until the smell is gone. Obviously, you’ll want to air out your car so it doesn’t smell like vinegar, but the process should take only about 12-24 hours.
While your car insurance won’t protect you from bad smells (although that would be awesome!) you still might want to consider saving money on insurance while you’re waiting for your car to destinkify. To do this easily, download the
Jerry
app—we’ll get you customized quotes from top providers, so that all you need to do is choose the plan that works best for you. (And once you choose one, we’ll even help you switch!)
Best of luck with getting your car back to smelling like roses—or at least to smelling like something other than sweat!
