What’s the Mazda CX 5’s clearance height?
I drive an older Mazda CX 5 and I never had any trouble going on gravel roads, but I recently upgraded to a 2022 Mazda CX 5 and I recently hit the undercarriage. Does the 2022 Mazda CX 5 have a different height clearance than older models?

The 2022 Mazda CX 5 has a height clearance of 7.5 inches. Previous CX 5 models (2017 and older) actually had a height clearance of 8.5 inches, so the newer CX 5’s did lose an inch of clearance.
While the Mazda CX 5 has plenty of height for driving on well-paved roads and highways, it sits a little too low for any serious off-roading—experts recommend at least 8.5 inches of clearance for rougher terrain. If you need more clearance for your CX 5, you can look into having a lift kit installed to allow for more height and larger tires.
