To find your Acura TSX radio code, you should start by looking in your glove compartment, beneath the cover of the engine fuse box, in your owner’s manual, on the driver’s side door jamb, or on the trunk jamb. If it’s not in any of those places, you’ll need to look it up using your VIN and radio serial number.
There are so many different numbers associated with your vehicle: license plate, VIN, tire number, and the all-too-forgotten radio code. After you disconnect or replace your Acura TSX’s battery, it will ask you for a radio code to unlock your sound system.
But, if you’ve completely lost track of it—or don’t even know what it is—Jerry
, the expert driving app and car insurance
comparison tool, is here to help. We’ll go over what your radio code is, how to find yours, and some pointers about how to save on Acura TSX insurance costs

You may be thinking: Radio code? I don’t even listen to radio stations; I only ever listen to Spotify. While that may be true, that doesn’t mean you can disregard your radio code. It’s connected to your entire sound system—not just your local stations.
Your car will prompt you to enter a radio code any time after you disconnect or replace your battery as an added security measure.
Although sure, you may not exactly use your radio to jam out to your local soft rock station, radios are still one of the most commonly stolen vehicle components. That’s where your radio code comes in: after all, who would want to take a sound system that only unlocks if you’ve got a little magic code?
But, if you’re the one stuck without the code, you could be the one with a useless radio in your hands.
How to find your Acura TSX radio code
Thankfully, it’s not that hard to find your Acura
radio code. We’d suggest you start by checking inside your glove box. Your TSX's radio code should be on a sticker decal on the inside wall of the glove compartment. If you can’t find it there, the next place to look is under the hood. Pop it open, and take the cover off of the engine fuse box cover. The sticker with the radio code may be on the underside of the fuse box cover.
And, if it’s not in either of those two places, you’re not out of luck just yet. Try flipping through your owner’s manual, on the door jamb, or on the trunk jamb. Keep in mind that the sticker you’re looking for will have two codes: one five-digit code, and another longer one. The one you need is the five-digit code—that’s the one that will unlock your radio.
How to look up your Acura TSX radio code
Searched all those places and still can’t find that pesky code? Don’t worry–there are still other ways to get the music rolling again! But it’ll involve a little more legwork.
You can search for your radio code by using your Acura's vehicle identification number (VIN)
and radio serial number. Your VIN can be found in a number of places like at the base of your windshield, on your vehicle's registration papers, on your insurance card, or on any official paperwork from an Acura dealership. How you get the radio serial number depends on the model year of your car:
For Acura TSXs from model year 2001 and later: Turn the ignition and radio on to confirm that the display reads “CODE.” If it doesn’t do this, pull the backup fuse and try again. Next, turn your radio off and press and hold all six preset buttons, and then turn the radio on again. The first screen will display the letter U followed by four digits, and the second screen will display an L also followed by four digits. These eight digits together make up your radio serial number.
For Acura TSXs from model year 2004-2008 with navigation systems: Turn on the ignition to ACC (1). Turn on the radio to confirm that the display reads “CODE.” If it doesn’t do this, pull the backup fuse and try again. Turn off the radio and press and hold the top halves of the SEEK/SKIP and CH/DISC bars, and then press and release the PWR/VOL knob. The first screen will display the letter U followed by four digits, and the second screen will display an L also followed by four digits. These eight digits together make up your radio serial number.
With your VIN and your radio serial code ready to go, you’re finally able to look up your Acura TSX radio code! You can do this by using Acura’s online lookup tool
or by calling (800) 382-2238 Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific. And, if worse comes to worst, you can always bring your TSX to your local Acura dealership
