I’m in the market for a small SUV with good enough ground clearance to do a bit of dirt road driving to remote campsites (nothing too extreme). What’s the Ford Escape’s clearance height?

Though it varies by trim level, the Ford Escape’s clearance height runs between 6.8 to 7.9 inches.
Height clearance is measured by taking the minimum distance between the bottom of a car and the road. Keep in mind that this measurement is taken with the vehicle empty, so if you’re carrying several people and/or gear, your actual clearance will be lower.
