Head out of Los Angeles onto I-10 E, to I-15 N, then take I-40

Follow I-40 E to New Mexico, past pink cliffs, tiny towns, and the Continental Divide (the highest point on Route 66)
Continue along I-40 E through Oklahoma
Take I-44 past Tulsa and Broken Arrow to Afron
Continue along I-44 through Missouri
Head onto I–55 and follow it into Chicago
