How can I make my drive from Wisconsin to Arizona more fun? It’s going to be a really long trip, so I’m hoping I can break it up by stopping in some cool places along the way. What’s the best route?
, but if you want to stop in some cool places along the way, I suggest the following:
Spend your first day driving to Kansas City via US-151 S, US-30 W, IA-330 S, and I-35 S. You can pass through Des Moines on the way and stop for a break to see the city!
Take I-35 S and US-50 W to Dodge City and spend the night.
From Dodge City, drive to Amarillo via US-283 S, US-54 W, KS-23 S, TX-15 W, US-83 S, TX-70 S, and US-60 W (phew!). You can spend the night here if you’d like a break, or continue on to Alburquerque for the night instead. Either way, you’ll be in a beautiful city!
The next day, you’ll be able to drive the rest of the way to Arizona on I-40! If you’d like, you can take a pit stop in Petrified Forest National Park on the way there to stretch your legs, eat lunch, and enjoy the scenery.
Trips like this can be expensive, especially if you’re staying in hotels along the way. To offset some of the cost, check out the
