What’s the best route from Kona to Volcano National Park?
I’m going to Hawaii with my parents and we’re renting a car for our stay. I want to drive to Volcano National Park for a day, but I’m not sure what driving will look like there! What route should I take?
Start driving southeast on Kuakini Highway toward Palani Rd.
Turn onto HI-11/Hawaii Belt Road.
Turn left onto HI-11/Hawaii Belt Road/S Kona Belt Road.
In about 70 miles, you’ll arrive at your destination.
The trip should take you a total of about two hours to complete, a lot of which you’ll spend driving along the coast. The drive is very beautiful, and visitors say that Volcano National Park is well worth the trip! If you’d like, there are lots of beaches that you can stop at along the way, too.
While you’re planning for your upcoming vacation, why not take an extra minute to bolster your budget with savings on
