What’s the best route from Atlanta to New York?

My husband and I have been wanting to take a trip up to New York from Atlanta, but we’re stuck on which route to take. It’s going to be a long drive no matter what we do, so we want to make a road trip out of it. What’s the best way to get from Atlanta to New York?

Atlanta
to
New York
depends on your preferences around time and scenery. The most direct route follows I-85 and I-95. However, for a more scenic drive, you can take the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.

To fill up a photo album with memories from the longer route, check out these spots:
  • The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
  • Shenandoah National Park
  • The Virginia Museum of Transportation, Roanoke
  • The Nascar Hall of Fame
