What year was the first Buick LaCrosse CXS?

I was debating with a friend of mine about when the Buick LaCrosse CXS first came out. They were certain that it was 2010, but I’m pretty sure it was earlier. When did the very first Buick LaCrosse CXS come out?

The year the first
Buick
LaCrosse CXS was manufactured was 2005, when the LaCrosse replaced the Buick Century and the Buick Regal as the automaker’s flagship car. The LaCrosse was based on a Buick concept car from 2000 and was named for the sport of LaCrosse.
The CXS was the top trim available for the Buick LaCrosse model, with features such as:
  • A 240-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine
  • 17-inch wheels
  • StabiliTrak chassis
  • Power sunroof
  • Remote start
  • Rear park assist
The CXS trim was briefly discontinued after 2008, superseded by the Buick LaCrosse Super, before being resurrected for the 2010 and 2011 LaCrosse model years.
