What will happen to the uninsured driver who hit my car?
Will the uninsured driver have any consequences for driving without insurance? I was involved in an accident a few weeks back. An uninsured driver drove through a red light and t-boned my car. Thankfully, all of my damages were covered by my uninsured motorist coverage, but it had me thinking.

Yes, while you won’t be made aware of what is happening with the other driver, they are dealing with repercussions from both the state and your insurance carrier.
Since police would have been called out to the scene of the accident, the driver may have been arrested or at least ticketed for
driving without insurance
. Once it goes to court, they could be fined and most likely have their license suspended for a certain period of time.
The insurance company will want to recoup their losses for this accident, since it should have been paid by the at-fault driver’s insurance.
In addition to all of this, the driver will have to fix or replace their own car. They are paying a hefty sum for driving irresponsibly.”
