That’s a great question! While you may use non-genuine BMW parts for repair services, your BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty will not cover repairs for these non-genuine BMW parts or any damages that might occur because of them.
According to BMW, your warranty will be void for the following circumstances:
- Specific vehicle components were previously replaced with used or salvaged parts
- The true mileage on the vehicle can’t be determined because the odometer has been replaced or altered
- The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) has been altered or cannot be determined
- The vehicle has been declared a total loss or sold for salvage purposes
- The vehicle has been used in any competitive event
