If your wiper motor runs but the wipers don’t move it’s most likely a mechanical problem, so you should start by examining the wiper assembly. This might be a disconnected wiper motor link arm, a jammed transmission, or locked gear.
Luckily, it’s much easier to fix your windshield wipers than your engine! Here’s how:
Remove the wiper motor arm
Refit it carefully, tightening nuts and ensuring that every part is functional
Test once the wipers are back in place
If it’s still not working, wait for a dry day and drive yourself to an auto shop for a quick inspection.
