What oil does a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee need?

Although your mechanic should know what oil to use for your vehicle, it’s a good idea to go in with a bit of knowledge so you ensure they’re doing the job correctly. For your 2015
Jeep
Grand Cherokee, the type of oil your mechanic will use depends on its engine.There are three engine options for the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Here are the types of oil you’ll need for each:
- 3.6-liter V6 engine: SAE 5W-40 with an oil capacity of 8.1 quarts
- 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine: SAE 5W-20 with an oil capacity 5.9 quarts
- 5.7-liter V8 engine: SAE 5W-20 with an oil capacity of 7 quarts
Regardless of which oil is needed, Jeep recommends using fully synthetic oil for optimal performance. Conventional and semi-synthetic oils are viable alternatives, but not ideal. Jeep recommends doing an oil change every 10,000 miles or every 12 months, whichever occurs first.
