I’m looking to buy a used hybrid vehicle that’s also compact enough for city living. A Toyota Prius c from my local dealer is at the top of my list. I just want to make sure it comes with a decent warranty. What is the warranty on a Toyota Prius c?

Although the
Toyota Prius c
was discontinued in 2019, it’s still an affordable option that gets great fuel economy. Plus, *several of the Toyota Prius c warranties are still in effect**! Here’s what was included in the Toyota Prius c’s warranty package:
- 3-year/36,000-mile basic (bumper-to-bumper) warranty
- 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty
- 10-year/150,000-mile hybrid battery warranty, which eclipses the federally mandated 8-year, 100,000-mile federally mandated hybrid battery warranty
While the original basic warranty has lapsed on all models of the Toyota Prius c, the model you buy may still fall under the powertrain and hybrid battery warranties. These warranties are also transferable to up to three different owners, so you may want to inquire about the car’s purchase history.
