What is the Ohio speed limit?

I live in Kentucky right across the river from Cincinnati. I’ve always wanted to explore Ohio, but I only got the chance in the last month or so. I’m going to drive around for two weeks, but I don’t want to get a speeding ticket that would ruin my trip. What is the speed limit in Ohio?

If you want to travel around the Buckeye State, the
Ohio
speed limit is a maximum of 70 mph**. This speed limit only applies to rural stretches of the interstate, but as Ohio is a densely populated state, you should always pay attention to posted speed limits.
Other speed limits in various areas of Ohio are:
  • 65 mph on urban expressways
  • 55 mph on rural roads, state highways, and county roads unless otherwise posted
  • 25 mph to 35 mph in residential areas and business districts unless otherwise posted
  • 20 mph in school zones
If you’re going out on the road for two weeks, you may as well get some added peace of mind with a
towing and labor coverage
policy. It functions just like roadside assistance, but it’s attached to your car insurance policy. Use the
