What is the difference between the Ford Bronco and the Bronco Sport?

I really like the idea of getting a new Ford, but I’m a little confused. Is the Ford Bronco Sport the same as the Bronco? What’s the difference between the two models?

It’s understandable to be confused if the Bronco and the Bronco Sport are the same. These two Ford vehicles do have a major difference between them—the
Ford Bronco
is built on a pickup truck frame, while the
Bronco Sport
has a unibody frame.
But what does that mean? The short explanation is that the Bronco Sport is closer to an SUV crossover than a truck when it comes to the frame. In fact, the Bronco Sport is based on the Escape crossover.
Here are a few other differences between the two:
Ford Bronco
  • Starting at $33,890
  • Two- and four-door body styles
  • 300-hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder base engine, available 330-hp twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6
Ford Bronco Sport
  • Starting at $30,810
  • Equally comfortable off-road and in town
  • 181-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder base engine, available 245-hp turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine
