has long been a fan favorite of Americans. And if you love the features, you’ll be pleased to know that the Corolla’s gas mileage is as high as 40 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg in the city.However, the actual gas mileage will vary depending on the transmission, trim, and engine that you choose. Here’s a breakdown of the fuel economy for different powertrain options:
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder: 40 mpg highway; 31 mpg city
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder for APEX and XSE trims: 38 mpg highway; 31 mpg city
- 1.8-liter four-cylinder with continuously variable transmission (CVT): 38 mpg highway; 30 mpg city
- 1.8-liter four-cylinder with manual transmission: 39 mpg highway; 29 mpg city
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder with manual transmission: 36 mpg highway; 28 mpg city
Toyota has also rolled out the Corolla Hybrid, which offers an impressive 53 mpg in the city and 52 mpg on the highway. Or you can opt for the Corolla Hatchback, which provides gas mileage of up to 41 mpg on the highway and 32 mpg in the city.
