, starting at $43,300.The Discovery Sport boasts some impressive off-road capabilities like all-wheel drive, the ability to safely trudge through up to 23.6 inches of water, hill-descent control, and a 4,409-pound towing capacity.
In terms of power, it includes a nine-speed automatic transmission and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 246 horsepower. The Discovery Sport isn’t particularly fast, however, taking 7.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.
The interior looks—and feels—cushy, with heated seats, ambient interior lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, built-in wireless smartphone charging, and a push-button start. Legroom and storage are both generous, with 28 cubic feet of cargo space and a power-operated rear liftgate. The dash features a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 180-watt six-speaker sound system.
Also included are driver-assistance technologies like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision detection, and lane-keeping assist—with other options available for an additional cost.
