, we’d have to suggest the 2020 Forester. Here’s why.- Features. Following a significant redesign in 2019, the 2020 model year didn’t change much—meaning you’ll still get some of Subaru’s newest features, including an updated controls system, a powerful 2.5-liter engine, and a standard full suite of driver assistance technology. But you’re more likely to find a 2020 model with a lower odometer reading than its 2019 predecessor.
- Reliability. It goes without saying that Subaru makes safe cars. But reliability is another top concern, especially when it comes to used vehicles—and those two terms are not interchangeable. Luckily, you don’t have to choose between a safe car and one that’s not going to break down unexpectedly—J.D. Power gave the 2020 Forester a “Great” reliability score of 81/100 and U.S. News ranked it #4 among affordable compact SUVs for its year.
