Is Mitsubishi’s factory warranty transferable?

I’m buying a used Mitsubishi that’s 3 years old, and the seller is trying to tell me that the factory warranty won’t transfer to me. Is that right?

Yes, and no. Most of the warranty coverage on a new
Mitsubishi
does transfer to the second owner. However, the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty is non-transferable.
This means that while you won’t be able to take advantage of the powertrain limited warranty, you will still have the balance of your new-to-you Mitsubishi’s other remaining warranties, including:
  • 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty
  • 7-year/100,000-mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty
  • 5-year/60,000-mile restraint system warranty
  • 5-year/unlimited-mileage roadside assistance
