What is the best route to Florida from Michigan?

I have a Subaru Crosstrek and it comes with buttons that you can program as universal garage door openers. I’ve always used the garage door remote that came with my garage door, but I’m tired of it hanging on (and sometimes falling from) my vanity mirror. How can I program my garage door to Crosstrek’s buttons?

I live in the middle of Chicago. While cabs and Ubers are plentiful, I’m fascinated by the idea of a driverless car picking me up when I need a ride. Lots of stuff in Illinois is highly regulated, so I’m curious if the government is doing the same with automated vehicles. Are self-driving cars legal in Illinois?
