Driving through the desert can be rough on your car. Follow these tips before you leave to make sure you’re prepared:
- Check your tires. The hot, dry pavement will wear your tires down more quickly, so you don’t want to be riding on an old set.
- Pack snacks and lots of water. Walking for help in the desert is a bad idea.Stock your carso you’ll be prepared to stay put for as long as necessary.
- Check the forecast.Sudden rainsin the desert can cause slick roads or even flash flooding. You’ll want a heads-up in case this happens.
- Get your vehicle inspected. Have your mechanic do a standard inspection on your vehicle to make sure everything is in top shape.
