If you want your vehicle to function more like a traditional car, then a traditional hybrid might be a good fit. (If you’re like me, and sometimes forget to charge your phone, you won’t need to remember to charge your car overnight!) The **Kia Sorento Hybrid is a great SUV option voted as the most efficient of mid-size hybrid SUVs with a combined highway and city mileage of 37 mpg (15.73km/L). The base cost is about $34,090 which is still higher than a traditional car, but on the low end of EV costs.
If you’re hoping to step a bit deeper into EV waters and purchase a plug-in hybrid which has a larger internal battery and needs to be charged to function properly.
A Kia Niro or a Hyndai Sante Fe Plug in Hybrid are both great options that also come in traditional hybrid models. Both cars range from the $27,000 to around the $40,000 range depending on the model and add ons. I own the Hyndai Sante Fe (traditonal gas car) and its a great vehicle.
