I know my Nissan Leaf is only a few years old, but I’m already stressed about replacing the battery. I’ve heard horror stories about how hard it is to find a replacement and that the costs are astronomical. Could you tell me about the 2019 Nissan Leaf battery degradation rate?

It is a little worrisome to know that your electric vehicle battery will degrade over time—but keep in mind that your driving habits and the conditions where you drive your 2019
Nissan Leaf
are the biggest factors in its battery degradation rate. Don’t forget that your charging habits also affect the battery. For instance, if you always use a DC quick charger, your battery will lose capacity faster than if you use a Level Two charger.
Most of the newer Leaf batteries degrade by just one to three% over the first year (and up to 20% total over the first five years). Fortunately, Nissan includes a battery warranty, guaranteeing against unnaturally fast battery degradation. Your 2019 Nissan Leaf’s battery is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
