My Mazda CX-9 has i-ACTIV AWD. To be honest, I’m not sure what *i-ACTIV* means, or how to activate my all-wheel drive. How do you turn on AWD in a Mazda CX-9?

Different all-wheel drive systems can be confusing since they can vary somewhat from vehicle to vehicle. There’s actually no button to turn on all-wheel drive (AWD) in a

with i-ACTIV AWD manually.

Instead, the Mazda CX-9’s i-ACTIV AWD system monitors road conditions in real time and activates all-wheel drive as needed when it detects slippage and uses front wheel drive in optimal conditions to help cut down on fuel usage.
