What is the 2017 Jeep Cherokee oil type?
I’m taking my 2017 Cherokee on a month-long camping trip through the Pacific Northwest, and I need some oil for my engine to take along. Can I buy any type? If not, what kind do I need?

The type of oil you need in your 2017
Jeep Cherokee
will depend on which engine you have in the car. The 2.4-liter engine for the 2017 Cherokee takes 0W-20, while the 3.2-liter engine takes 5W-20. If you’re lost, the oil cap to the engine should be able to tell you the type of oil you need. Or, better yet, check your car’s owner’s manual.
Jeep recommends using fully synthetic motor oil for the 2017 Jeep Cherokee. This will extend the life of your engine, keep your car happier and healthier—and you’ll have the benefit of not needing an oil change as often as you would if you use conventional motor oil.
