The 2013
Subaru Impreza
takes SAE 0W-20 synthetic motor oil. Subaru specifically recommends using Genuine Subaru Oil brand motor oil, because they say it’s specially formulated for the Subaru Boxer® engine that’s in your Impreza. Here’s a little more information on what to get that can help with that at-home oil change:
- 5.1 quarts of SAE 0W-20 oil, preferably Genuine Subaru Oil brand
- A new oil filter, which Subaru also recommends from the Subaru brand line
- A new oil pan gasket
- A drain pan for the old motor oil
- A sealed plastic container to store the old oil until you can recycle it
