What is radar cruise control?

A car that I’m considering buying is listed as having radar cruise control. What does this mean? I’m not normally a fan of cruise control but this intrigued me.

Radar cruise control is an upgraded cruise control feature in some newer vehicles, such as
Toyotas
and Mazdas. It uses sensors to detect obstructions in your path and other objects around you—such as another vehicle in your lane.
Also called adaptive cruise control, radar cruise control allows your car to brake automatically to avoid a potential collision. It can also slow its speed if it detects another vehicle in front of you. That way, you don’t have to manually slow down and then reset the cruise control.
