I just bought a new Kia Sorento, and I love it, but I can’t figure out how the cruise control works. What is the Kia Smart Cruise Control, and how does it work?
Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go is pretty easy to use. When using this feature, your car will maintain both the specific speed you set and maintain distance from the vehicle ahead of you at the same time.
By setting the cruise control and distance settings, your car will use its advanced sensor systems to automatically bring you to a stop if the vehicles ahead of you stop. When traffic gets moving again, your vehicle will accelerate back to cruising speed all by itself—perfect for rush hour traffic!
Here’s how you set your cruise control:
Press the CRUISE button on the steering wheel
Accelerate to your desired speed
Press the SET button
You can set the Stop and Go features by toggling the distance control on and off. You can choose between four preset distances: 87 ft, 107 ft, 131 ft, and 172 ft. Just press and hold the DISTANCE control button on the steering wheel (next to CANCEL).
