Does a Hyundai Veloster have a spare tire?
Although the Hyundai Veloster doesn’t come equipped with a spare tire, it does include Hyundai’s Tire Mobility Kit.
To access your Veloster tool kit, look in the trunk of your vehicle, just under the floor covering. Included in the kit are the following:
- A bottle of tire sealant
- A compressor
- A power cord
- An air/sealant tube
The Tire Mobility Kit is designed to help you patch punctures or tears to your tires that are a quarter-inch in diameter or less. Once you’ve patched up your tire, you should drive immediately to an auto shop to have the tire replaced.
How to use the Hyundai Veloster Veloster Tire Mobility Kit
So you’ve got a flat and need to fix it ASAP. The Hyundai Tire Mobility Kit is easy to use, but if you don’t feel comfortable repairing the issue yourself, we suggest calling a

company. The typical cost for a spare tire replacement is about $95, including labor. To use the Hyundai Veloster Veloster Tire Mobility Kit, follow these steps:
- Find a safe place to park and turn your hazard lights on.
- Locate the Tire Mobility Kit, which is in the trunk under the floor covering.
- Examine the puncture to your tire, but don’t remove the debris or nail that caused the damage.
- Fit the sealant bottle to the compressor and connect the compressor cord to the dashboard.
- Insert the compressor air/sealant into the tire’s valve system, then turn the compressor on.
- Inflate the tire until you reach a PSI of about 33 then turn the compressor off. (Refer to your owner’s manual for the exact PSI.)
- Drive a few miles or for 10 minutes to make sure the sealant is distributed inside the tire evenly. (Don’t drive over 50 mph.)
- Immediately drive to a mechanic or repair shop. You don’t want to drive on your patched tire unless absolutely necessary.
You’re all set! A good rule of thumb: Once you’ve completed patching up your tire, place the reminder sticker (included in your tire kit) on your dashboard. This will help you remember to have the tire replaced as soon as possible.
